Industrial Coatings

The coatings listed below are not intended to be a complete list of all coatings, however, they do represent a large part of Peak Coatings' products.  The industrial coatings industry is an exciting field to be in today, with changes and advancements in all types of coatings happening on a regular basis.

Acrylic
Also known as latex paints, acrylics are water based and most commonly used in residential and commercial applications.  While they are the hands down best for painting dry-wall, these coatings have also come a long way with technology and are frequently used in industrial applications as a topcoat for UV protection in a high performance coating system.

Alkyd
Alkyds can be an excellent low cost coating option for light to medium duty steel coating needs.

Liquid Rubber

Liquid Rubber is a trade name for EPDM.  However, there are several products on the market that provide an elastomeric, urethane rubber coating with great elongation properties.  These coatings are useful in a wide range of applications, including potable water situations, water cooling towers, waterproofing, and more.  For more information, visit our Water Cooling Tower Coating page.

Epoxy

Epoxy coatings are the industry workhorse.  One of the best primers and all around coatings, epoxies range from those that can be applied to a home owner's garage floor, to those fortified with coal tar for tank linings.  They have outstanding adhesion and chemical resistance, but typically can't stand up well to UV outside.

Fluoropolymer
Fluoropolymers have excellent UV protection and can last for 15-20 years outside.  They have many uses, popular examples include Kynar and Teflon.

Polysoloxane

Polysoloxanes can be a wonderful alternative to urethane for UV protection as a topcoat, having similar characteristics, yet doing so without isocyanates.

Polyurea

Polyurea coatings are primarily used for tank linings and secondary containments.  This durable coating can be applied to extremely thick millage curing very quickly.  One popular example of this is Rhino Lining.

Urethane

Urethanes also have a wide range of usage, yet their strength is to be used as a top coat maintaining high gloss retention--even in UV, and excellent chemical resistance.

Vinyl Ester

Vinyl Esters use a chemical cure via polymerization to create a thick, plastic-like coating, effective for lining tanks, trenches, secondary containments and more.
